
Governor’s Executive Order 23-02 Declaring a State of Emergency Due to Homelessness
COIC is facilitating and convening a Multi-Agency Coordination Group to allocate EO 23-02 funding at a regional scale, in partnership with the Homeless Leadership Coalition (Central Oregon’s Continuum of Care).
Central Oregon is expected to receive $14 million to support projects across Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties. Projects funds must be spent no later than January 10th, 2024.
The following goals have been established by the State for Central Oregon:
- Preventing 354 households from becoming homeless (out of 7,000)
- Creating 111 new shelter beds (out of 600)
- Rehousing 161 unsheltered households (out of 1,200)

The Coordination group will meet regularly every month on the last Wednesday of the month from 10-11am.
