ANNOUNCEMENTS

Report from Regional Survey with Oregon Values and Beliefs Center Now Available!

In November 2022, COIC concluded the Central Oregon “State of the Region” survey in partnership with the Oregon Values and Beliefs Center (OVBC) and many Central Oregon agencies and organizations. Now, we are excited to share that we have received the summary report from OVBC, which is available for viewing here and on our CEDS webpage under the “2023 Update Resources” tab. We still encourage everyone to make a profile on OVBC’s panelist page to receive future surveys and earn cash-value points from this and future OVBC surveys, as well as represent your community!

What We Do

Community and economic development is a key function for individual Central Oregon cities and counties, and the region as a whole has significant community development needs and opportunities.

As a regional Council of Governments, COIC’s mission includes providing a means for the region to work together to identify issues and needs which are regional in scope; achieve concurrence for cooperative actions; and achieve goals in areas including transportation, regional economic development, land use and public infrastructure, natural resources and environmental protection, public safety and emergency management, human services, education, and workforce development.

In addition to supporting region-scale activities, COIC provides project-specific community development services for individual communities, governments, businesses, and other partner organizations. These services are offered to:

      1. Facilitate multi-stakeholder strategic planning and problem-solving;
      2. Identify resources to help fund priority projects, and potentially develop and administer grants; and
      3. Provide staffing capacity that our member jurisdictions may not have the ability to support.
