Nancy Gilbertson, COIC’s Juvenile Detention teacher, is working collaboratively with Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Center staff to develop vocational programs that can help their students find success. The hope is that by providing more hands-on training and other work-readiness opportunities, students will be better prepared to productively transition back into their communities upon their release.
