COPWRR Newsletter - June, 2007

Welcome to the Central Oregon Partnership for Wildfire Risk and Reduction Newsletter. This is a new service intended to keep members of the partnership up to date with the latest activities and issues. As well, it is an opportunity to reach out to potential members and interested parties.

In each newsletter, look for highlighted projects, upcoming meeting information, links to COPWRR in the news and general articles that pertain to current topics of interest to the partnership. Carbon Sequestration

With the increased awareness of the global climate change phenomenon, a bit of good news has been discovered. There exists today a technology that can store millions of pounds of carbon. It is scalable, able to store more carbon each and every year. It is safe and ecologically beneficial to multiple species of plants and animals. It can aid in the maintenance of healthy air and water. This miracle technology is, of course, forests. Read the full article.

After much discussion and careful consideration, COIC has redesigned and launched the new COPWRR website. As with most technological efforts, bugs, omissions and general mistakes are to be expected. And hence, a plea for help. Please send your suggestions, comments and/or absolutely necessary changes to Mike Wagner. Your input will be vital to creating a functional website for all of COPWRR's efforts.
