Central Oregon Workforce Coordinating Council (WCC)
The Central Oregon Workforce Coordinating Council formed in 2009 as a strategic workforce development stakeholder group, for Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties. The Goals for the Workforce Coordinating Council are:

1. To identify priority workforce development needs, problems or challenges – to address barriers to businesses finding qualified workers and/or workers gaining the skills and information needed to become employed. 2. To coordinate those working on workforce development, economic development and business development, to ensure we are all working together, efficiently. 3. To sustain a high quality workforce development system in Central Oregon that is responsive to job seeker and business needs, through WorkSource Central Oregon. |

Council Steering Team
A Steering Team has formed to lead the development of the Workforce Coordinating Council. Participation in the Workforce Coordinating Council is open to anyone. The “workforce development system” in Central Oregon includes organizations, local governments, schools, businesses, labor unions and individuals that share a common interest in: Ensuring that people become or remain economically self-sufficient, while Promoting the region’s economic growth by providing employers with trained, employment-ready workers.
